Welcome to Depozip.
Your first-ever refundable recycling pickup service for residential customers. Now, you can kick your beverage container recycling to the curb. Arrange a pickup time using our Depozip Web App and we’ll pick up your empties right from your home. Enter your address to determine your pick-up day, and we’ll send a confirmation email via the simple Depozip Web App. On the day of your pickup, the app will send you notifications so you can easily track your pickup.
After your return is picked up, sorted and counted by our team, we’ll send your refund to your account, typically within 2 weeks.
We pay 7 cents per recyclable container, and no sorting is needed! Please have a minimum of 150 containers ready for pick up, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Getting Started
Our easy-to-use web app has been designed to make residential recycling faster and simpler than ever. Set up an account, and you’ll be able to recycle from home in just a few clicks.
Provide your name, address, and payment information, then you can schedule your first pickup.
Preparing for your Pick-up
Gone are the days of sorting all your empties. With Depozip, you can put all your empties into one transparent plastic bag!
Our service team will pick up that bag at your convenience, and we will take care of the sorting at our depot.

Getting your Depozip Return
After we pick up your empties, the team at our depot will
process your order by sorting the containers and documenting them in our digital system. This takes anywhere from 3-10 business days, depending on the volume of empties our teams are processing that week.
After we complete processing your order, your return will be transferred to your account. Every time $25 is accumulated, you can transfer it directly to your bank account.

With the Depozip App, you’ll be notified with a window of time for your pick-up. Our tracking system will send you a notification when we are 30 minutes away and once we’ve picked up your order. This way, you’ll be in the know every step of the way!

Which containers does Depozip pick up?
Depozip picks up all containers from residential neighborhoods that are included in the BC universal recycling program. This includes cans, bottles, tetra packs, juice containers, and most recently, milk containers. As of February 1, 2022, milk containers can also be accepted for recycling. You can include your milk containers with your other unsorted empties, and we’ll process them for a return of 7 cents per recyclable beverage container.

How recycling your empties can help your community
The Depozip app has a simple feature that allows customers to donate their returns to any charitable organizations registered within our web app. You can browse the charities after signing in and select a charity for a one-time donation or ongoing basis. Recycling your containers can make a big difference!
With each container you keep out of landfills and our oceans, you are helping to preserve our fragile ecosystems. British Columbia has some of the most spectacular nature in the world, and by working together, we can protect it for generations to come.
How to recycle with Depozip
Make sure all your containers are clean and qualify as recyclable containers. Only use clear plastic bags and make sure they do not weigh more than 35 lbs.
Re-usable, clear plastic bags that hold 150 containers are available at the depots for a 50-cent deposit reduction.
Ask us next time you’re in the depot, and please keep in mind we can only provide a maximum of 6 bags per customer.
Glass containers can be left in their cases. If loose, please do not put in more than 8 glass containers per bag.
Larger volumes (2+ mega bags or more than 1000 containers) will require longer processing times. Please be patient as we work to accommodate all of our customers. These larger returns could take up to 2 weeks for payment. Thanks in advance for your patience!
Here’s what to AVOID to make sure you get your full return:
Transparent plastic bags only: Clear plastic bags only.
Our team needs to be able to see inside.
Leave Glass Bottles in their case.
No bags inside bags. The team needs to be able to
see all containers clearly.
No paper bags, they do not hold up to transport and
handling, and your return will spill everywhere.
No flattened containers. We need to be able to see
the bar codes.
No bags over 35Lbs. The team has to be able to lift
the bags.
Absolutely, NO food waste. It ruins the entire bag of
containers! Bags containing food waste will be rejected.
We cannot ask our team to handle food waste, it isn’t
sanitary or safe.
